Chat, ping, invoke and content-generation examples may send real billable requests. Check the model, balance, rate and minimum before running them. GET /v1/models checks authentication and the catalogue only. Set up environment variables safely
Base URL to paste
OpenAI SDKs generally use a URL ending in /v1; Anthropic SDKs use the root URL. Avoid adding /v1 twice. Protocol compatibility does not guarantee every provider feature.

Verify connection
- Send a short prompt with `hermes chat` using a ThAPI model.
- Dashboard → Usage.
Troubleshooting

| Still calls OpenRouter / Nous | The provider is still auto/openrouter. | Set provider: custom (or anthropic) and ThAPI's base_url. |

Notes
- API CLI does not yet support `api-cli configure hermes` — configure it manually using this page.
- Prefer a custom OpenAI-compatible provider or anthropic + ANTHROPIC_BASE_URL; avoid Claude Max OAuth if you want charges deducted from your ThAPI wallet.
